A school psychologist studies about human mind's functioning, alternative ways of mental health care, behavior and feelings. Psychologist investigates the depths and complexities of mind to provide suitable therapy or to learn more about humans in general way.In fact, a physician who is licensed to practice medicine by his state medical board--whatever his specialty--can legally provide counseling for anyone, even if he or she has absolutely no training in school psychologist at all!

The school psychologist is a highly trained professional who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of problems in thinking, feeling and behavior. He or she has approximately 7 years of professional education in the areas of counseling, psychotherapy and diagnostic testing. Employment of psychologists in all areas is expected to grow faster than average for all occupations in next 10 years. As more students are affected by family violence, crime, alcohol and drug abuse, the demand for counsel of school psychologists are in grow trend which translate into many career opportunities in this field. If you are interested to start your career as school psychologist, you are in the right career path which will bring you to a brighter future.

Consequently, the psychologist is the most highly trained mental health professional available in school psychologist as psychiatrists, mental health counselors and social workers typically have only 1 to 3 years of training exclusively in counseling, testing and psychotherapy.
